He'd always felt so grounded,
limited by his limitations
He never understood
It was only his body
keeping him tethered down
He never realized
there was more than that
He saw his
deadened legs like anchors
dragging him down through hell
His money, his house, his family
all that he didn't have
He blamed his limitations
but he didn't know that his limits
weren't only physical
Keeping his soul bottled up
pinned him down
If only he had the strength
Perhaps if he was shown the way
he could escape
the grave he digs for himself
with a contemptuous spade
From which he would never escape,
unless he set himself free
and let his spirit soar,
beyond his limits,
unburdened by blame

and let his spirit soar,

I can see you roaming with your muse around the depth of this nature where one can touch the essence of life..Indeed a great note you made here..thanks for such a deep entry in my contest...

this was such a powerful piece, if only people understood how they could change their lives if only they escaped their daily routines and nightmares. Well done.
