Rambutan Girl

this Rambutan Girl
        has bits of male scattered
        beneath her evergreen;

soft spine surrounds a seed

of poison, buried in her flesh

   15 degrees from center.

                             [ & Equator ]

Quests for soil
deep enough to free
faint offerings

of scent -

of nectar seeking
Butterfly caress,

for her to study close
until she tastes those secrets well -

longings of cocoon & chrysalis.

Then she'll shift
her art ... to learning how
they fly.

ahh the element of hope envisioned after a long strife, this is the best presence in the books of the old masters, Hawthorne, Dickens, Longfellow, and many more, as this elemental flaw that drives us all, to self betterment, in spirit, in body, in all we do.
Your voice is well spoken within these lines of beautiful art... Well done!

This is such a wonderful poetic interpretation of the chosen fruit - I'm impressed and I love the way you present your poems too. Wonderfully creative these "longings of cocoon & chrysalis".

Bravo, especially liked "then she'll shift her art" indeed whether flower, fruit or person, tis not the name nor gender that personifies it as much as the very esence of it,herein the exploration exposes that regardless there would still be the same strength of taste and temprement.
