Hanging Rose

A burnished gold crust
Unfolds in
Fragile layers
To a tightly wound heart of
A delicate, antique pink.

A single touch capable
Of shattering this
No longer fragrant
Hanging rose.

Author notes

A rose I recieved four years ago that I still keep in my room.

I've got a deep red rose just like this
Ah the memories in that rose
Can't wait for them to bloom again this spring tho
And spring is only 60 days away
    Another nice one by you
    Blessings
