A Helium balloon floats
Further away from the shoreline,
As she cries into the black seaweed coated summer
Of past loves gone sour and broken afterthoughts
The little girl knew nothing of her dreams
Yet she cried for all those who had not believed in the simple truth
She so dearly was devoted to,
That simple truth of love
For years she waited for a boy to change her world
And the day he did, it changed for the worst
In a way that she never thought possible
She was wrecked, detached from reality
And melancholy like never before
.
Today
The little princess sits on the jetty of her favorite childhood beach
Contemplating
The end of all things girly, all things sweet
All because of one lost truth
The only one she ever believed in
..
And the girl is lost
Lost to the world
Because that stupid boy never loved her back
Please tell me what you think

That's heartwrenching... and I'm not going to sound all professional here... that actually brought a tear to my eye; I have experienced a situation similar, except I didn't have a balloon... and I'm not a girl... but not to trivialize the emotions here... that was deep.
Thank you for sharing this piece of amazing emotion and imagery.
