I had woken briefly to feel him lying beside me
clothed in medieval blue
beautiful white teeth in sharp contrast
to milky brown skin
dead-to-the-world, I sprawled
fully-clothed, on the sand
Clear, bright moonlight oddly lacking in colour
memories of Marrakesh
horse hooves and the raucous spluttering
of mopeds, the flick-crack of whips over donkeys
that look too small to be pulling carts so over-laden
with fruit, firewood, bundles of herbs
the natives able to navigate the labyrinth
of alleys and souks with their eyes closed -
but I was not that skilled
'Ah, my desert nomad' he whispered
running his index finger along my ribs
I turned, and closed dream-filled eyes
against the solar power of his smile
Desert Nomad

Moroccan doctrine..
heat shine and the mezzanine glimmer of soft-celled tissue drips on the surface of sand as you write your love into it. who needs a road when the wind carries your name everywhere - never mentioned?
