Knight Without Honor

I remember the days when I was happy
Elation stretched across my face
And I remember how my tongue twisted
How my butterflies quivered
With delight
My own world became a dream

You were the star
Like the universe, everything revolving
Around you.
My hopes, my emotions, my love
All revolved around you.
You were my fairy-tale come true.

But when my troubles
And all the dragons came
Wreaking havoc in all corners of my life
You stared and turned your back
It was another you desired
And even my dreams couldn’t keep you
Nor my dragons that challenged you.

Now my tongue is twisted
And my butterflies ceaselessly quiver
I wish to seclude myself from conversation
All discussions lead to you
With my butterflies quivering
They eat at my stomach
Because my fear of your name, your love
Is still too close

You, oh! noble knight,
Were written to save my soul
From all the dragons, the biting flies
And leave my love consoled
But now to my dismay, good sir,
I realize you’re naught
But the bringer of evil yourself
And this is nothing like fantasy
But reality in its true colors

Author notes

my inspiration came from basically the first poem i ever read because i can relate to it so well. Men do not care if they wreck your world. they are there to save our world but instead they do a good job of doing the exact opposite.

Wow. This is wonderful. The raw emotion is very endearing. I think the repetition in the lines "Like the universe, everything revolving
    Around you.
My hopes, my emotions, my love
All revolved around you." detracts from the piece though.
    Otherwise, great job. Well done.
