I Know I Have Been Gone (Monchielle)

I know I have been gone
for all too long a time,
but let me please explain.
I have not left you all,
nor moved to sunny Spain.

I know I have been gone,
but I had need for rest.
I did what I dreamt do.
I traveled far and long,
and visited Peru!

I know I have been gone,
and let my muse go numb.
I have stressed and I strived.
With good friends such as you
my muse will be revived.

I know I have been gone,
no bad apologies.
I promise I am back!
Now let me read your work
to get me back on track.

"Let my muse go numb" - yeah, kind of says what I think. I don't believe in "writer's block", as they call it, just lack of self-discipline. There are always ways to write, even if it's just sitting down and describing something as simple as the room you're in. I hope that that is what you're trying to suggest by that line - if not, please correct me. Great write. x

      Very good!

That was exactly what I meant with the line. I never have writer's block, it is just that some times my muse is not telling me what to write. You know what I mean. Thanks for the comment, and for the applause, I appreciate it! Jim

      Yes,

I was in Peru. I was in Lima, I was in Cuzco, I saw Maccu Pichu, I was in the Amazon jungle, only thing I did not have time to see of what I wanted to see, was the Nasca lines. Well, next time. Jim

Thanks for the comment, and the applauses! I am sorry to hear that you contemplate on leaving us though. I hope you change your mind, or atleast that you will be back soon, when your muse makes your mind spill over with poetry. We will miss you a lot, Elaine! Take care, my friend! Jim

The rain in Spain stay mainly in the plain...

I didn't know you live in Spain! Or maybe I did, but I had forgotten it. I had to find something rhyming with explain, so I went for Spain. Other rhymes could have been plane, Maine, feign. Thanks for the comment, and for the applause. Check my newest poem, I know you will like it! Take care! Jim

      I am baaaaack!

Not so often as I wish, but once in a while to post a new poem. I was in a way going away to look for my muse, as she and our son had gone to Peru on vacation a few weeks earlier than I could. It was great to see Cuzco, Machu Pichu, the Amazon river, Lima, and many other places. Thanks for the comment, and the applauses, Shahrzad (and thanks for the funny mails you keep sending). Check my newest poem if you like... Hugs, Jim

Jim, It's so good to see your words again and you come right back with a monchielle that is beautiful. We will have to do a little hitchhiking through the galaxies now that you are here again. As always you come through shining with your "moose" shifting into warp speed and sending us soaring with your words so sparkling. It's good to have you back bro and I look forward to more. Keep the ink flowing. Love and hugs for you and the family, your sis Joyce

      Hehe...

I can always count on that you spin in hitchhiking into the comment now and then, and this time was no different. Sorry for not answering this sooner, I kind of forgot to check replies on this poem, with work taking most of my time and all. Thanks for the comment, and for the applause. Big hug for you and your husband. Jim
