It was
A hot afternoon
Blazing
Scorching
And here I am
Getting ready
To run
This is the 1600
The mile
AKA suicide
I step up
To that line
And take my
Stance
The gun explodes
We all take off
I can't
Leave anything
On this Track
It's Regional
If I don't make State
It's my last run
Lap one is done
I turn for
Number two
My pace is fast
Faster than
I've ever gone
The wind is fast
Through my hair
It cools my hot skin
Lap 2 is done
Only 2 laps to go
My legs begin
To tire
As the sweat
Drips down my
Face, and into my eyes
It hurts
Lap 3 is over
Now for lap four
I'm running harder now
But my legs feel like
Lead weights
Weighing me down
"Faster Faster!"
The crowd cheers!
I give it all I have
Down this stretch
It's the finish
I collapse
It's done
It's done

this is really a great expression of your life through an action that takes a lot of determination. you seem like a really strong-willed person even when describing a single aspect of your life. this was great.
