Love Me Again

Through so many heartfelt moments,
my tears fall as my heart aches
that you are not here with me.

The precious moments
in your life
I will not know
for I am not there
to see them,
and I cannot be.

Failing so many times
to regain your love and trust,
I now know I can never be
what you want from me,
and my love for you
will continue to be
unrequited.

I don't know if you still love me,
or if you know that my love for you
will never die,
but I wonder every day
if you can ever accept me again.

From the day you were born,
you were my every thought,
and you remain in my thoughts
every day of my life.

As my tears continue to fall
and my heart still breaks,
I pray that you will someday
love me again.

    wow.
that was extremely powerful, it's very emotional.
I'm sorry for what has happened. I hope that your daughter can find her way back into your arms and realize how much you love.

That was perhaps the most powerful and heartfelt poem I have ever read!!! Your talent and your huge heart make this a truly fantastic piece, my friend!
On a more personal note, I hope the truth of your love reaches her heart...sometimes we don't know what we have until it's too late...I hope time finds you both well, my friend!
Thank you for sharing...and a great piece indeed... BRAVO on the highest level!!!

Thank you, Cheeky. I am sure my Katie loves me, but she may not realize it until it's too late. I would hate to see what she will go through later. She's such a beautiful young woman, but her heart has been broken too many times. As far as I'm concerned, Katie is still always my angel. Hugs, Patricia

I don't know the situation between you and your daughter but that would make no difference in the feeling I have when reading this poem because this is very similar to the way I feel about mine. A love a lost long ago and don't know how to go about getting it back without getting hurt or hurting her again. I pray you find the love you lost soon. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long
ps. The background fits perfect with the feelings you express.

It's unfortunately called divorce, Leo. I'm afraid Katie is one who's head can be turned easily with words of hate and vehemence.

We have recently had contact, but it didn't last for long. I refuse to speak ill of her dad, and I think that's what she wanted. I see no reason to bring up hard feelings. Although I'd do almost anything to have my daughter with me, I may be doomed to only have her in my heart.

Your words are always kind and considerate of my feelings, Leo. You have become a dear friend. Hugs, Patricia

Oh, Patricia, this is achingly sad, with words that weep of loss. I hope she rethinks her position. One of my daughters did. She never said she hated me, but there were times I felt it. She will be 33 tomorrow, and she knows now that there was never a time I did not love her...that life just sometimes deals us a hand we can't fold.

    Love you.... Karen

Thank you, Karen. I don't think Katie ever said she hated me, at least not to me directly. I know she tended to believe things that were told to her from a very young age, things that were untrue or half truths. Divorce can do horrible things to a family, especially to children. I don't blame her; she's a product of her environment. Hugs, Patricia

Thank you, Timothy. My daughter is such a beautiful young woman, and I do miss her terribly. Hopefully she'll come around. After years of conditioning to hate me, I realize I have to give her time. Hugs, Patricia
