I lined my stomach with cockroaches
while I lived in hallucinations
and dreamed of influenza
Oblivion became my grave
Smallpox effects dotted the sun
crawling like wasps in heat
while black holes swallowed
the light from my eyes
Salvation found in
wastepaper bins and
pornographic films
and Jesus was never there
I found medication
to numb life
in bottles of existentialism
while I counted dead bodies
on my way to sleep

Wow
This is just way cool."Smallpox effects dotted the sun
crawling like wasps in heat", what an image. "Counted dead bodies"... Excellent.

there is energy even in the line breaks, well done
a sort of sedated sense of outrage here, wonderful...PK

Nate, I would know your work anywhere. This is profound and almost dire. You take words and punch them, leaving them bruised and full. Excellent.
