Shattered dreams of gossamer fragility,
Held before the eyes of posterity,
This long abandoned legacy,
That was passed down to me.
Lies held back by tongues and fear,
Those things we refuse to hear,
Never letting the truth get to near,
As eyes get cloudy and unclear.
Standing before the looking glass,
Destroyed remnants from my past,
Moving shadows that I have cast,
A test that my heart can’t pass.

Thanks for your entry. I enjoyed the read. I think I like the first verse best. Keep writing and best of luck in the contest.

Thank you for your entry into the Allpoetry Legacy contest. Very nicely done with good thoughts and concepts and well presented. The rhymes are fairly well done and don't disrupt the thoughts or flow. There is a misspelled word in stanza 2. Best of luck in the contest.
