Flower

Sugared blossom
bowing into the water
with a hungry ripple
supple
softer and rounder
then Lilith's satin hips
Blood
red like blushing cheeks
across the sunless skin
of the flower

Author notes

Lilith, Adam's mythical first wife, a succubus .. you can read more about her here : http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/~humm/Topics/Lilith/seductress.html .. this poem is mostly talking about the Lily of the Valley flower (http://www.send4fun.com/IMAGES/Photos/PLANTS185.jpg) which is beautiful, but deadly, just as Lilith was.

    Great Write!

Wow! What a write. I can see the crimsom red... as it softly glides across the water. You write in such moods. I love this. Good luck with the contest, you make me want to enter.

    Much Love,
    Renee
