Funeral For The World

Missing image
Emerald isles covered in roses:

I remember
the first time I saw the world evolve
within the depth of you green eyes.

Caught up like a wayward traveler,

… among the ghosts & fears,
  the castles and jagged cliffs of long ago;
  swept by raging torrents
            over waterfalls through jungles;…

needing directions, I asked your name.
Rosemarie stole my taxi and drove away.

Belfast: A year and a day later
I bought you a drink and spent the night

                                                  traveling.

We saw the world together – You and I.
But yours was a painful paradise
and one rainy night, as I was exploring forever,

                  you lost your way.

This is such an intriguing poem; it makes me want to know more about these people and the relationship.

Good format and language; just the right mix of imagery and simplicity. You know when to pile it on and when to stop.

I'm glad I can include this in the book. Thanks!
