Almost a full grown woman now,
but theres a few things I need to say.
I don't know why I didn't say it,
until this moment today.
Just a few things I never thought to say,
I guess I thought you knew.
I always wanted to be someones little girl,
I just never knew it would be you!
I see in your wise eyes,
this beautiful woman growing up so fast.
It feels just as your helping me walk,
your helping me walk away.
Helping me stand when I fell so hard,
desperately into your arms with more tears than shame.
I know so many times we feel frustration,
better times yet ahead,
never did a moment pass my solitary mind,
that I thought I'd be a daddies little girl.
Almost out on my own now,
spreading my wings and soaring high.
But I see your gentle smile,
and I know nothing will replace it in my heart,
I will always and forever take pride in being your little girl.

Author notes
Dedicated to my daddy AKA Daddio
I was that little girl, longing for a daddy, never having a daddy figure, till you adopted me, till both of you adopted me. And This is a major cheese fest poem, but with all we've been through, and all I know, I'm glad to be here as your daughter today! I love you, both of you <3
Please tell me what you think

This is very touching to me as our daughter is adopted. From birth she entered our lives and we are so blessed since that beautiful day. Your poem brings tears to my eyes. So heartfelt and poignant, wonderful! Hugs, Kelly
