Foolish Pride

We're from two different worlds, You and I.
I am steadily reaching towards the sky.
I have waited so long, for someone to set me free.
But what I have found, after all this time, someone loves me.
Brittany... someone loves me.

You have come into my life, and turned my life around.
I don't know who I am, I can't keep my feet on the ground.
This is a new feeling, this happiness inside.
But my greatest fear is I'll push you aside...
My foolish pride.

I have learned to have a little faith, it's true.
I am willing to wait for you, I'll wait for you.
And in the end, if you leave, I will be able to see.
If what I percieved was real... if you loved me.

But the fault would be on me, because I know,
And everyone says it's easy to spot, I let it show.
Opposite of what I feel inside, I did push you aside,
Brittany gave in to her foolish pride.

Ok..... well...Brittany is muy confused!!!! I really really really like this guy but I AM SO SCARED!!! I am scared that I will let the best thing that ever happened to me go....all because i am a stupid tomboy.... i dunno what to do. I dunno what to say to him either. I AM SO CONFUSED!!!!

    this is a wonderful piece and very truthful and that is very important. It is important to be truthful with yourself most of all and with those closest to you and we all have a bit of "foolish pride" to get over about one thing or another. Sometimes the best thing we can do is try to swallow that pride and just show people who we are and hope that they accept us.

    Nice job with this - was a good write filled with emotion especially confusion! Think we've all been here - only advice I can offer is to live in the moment and not worry too much about things that can be put aside - the way that we love says the most about us! Keep up the good work!
