A Child’s Death

Little child of mine
part of my heart
Dying in my arms
as it tears me apart

Nothing I can do
to save your precious life
Just comforting you
as I wait out the night

Echo of your sighs
that penetrates my soul
Caress your tiny hands
that are turning oh so cold

Let me give you warmth
from my bleeding heart
As I hold you close
for soon we will be apart

Give me all your fears
for God wants you know
Let me kiss your tears
as I release you in his arms

You will always be missed
your soul in my heart I hold
I give you the final kiss
as you go with the Lord

    oh..

That's so sad. I'm a new mother to a beautiful 10 month old girl. I couldn't imagine life without her now. It would just be too horrible. This is a very great and emotional piece. My condolences to the parents... may God find a way to soothe the ache, and fill the void in your hearts.

    aaww...

This is such a sad poem. There was sadness in every line but still there's hope for the baby is going into God's hands.

The last stanza was heart-breaking. To see anything bad happen to a child is one of the saddest things that can happen. Hope things are alright!

    Congratulations on the bronze trophy.

This was absolutely heart wrenching...I have lost a child and I must say, I know there are no words to truly comfort you now, but know you are in my prayers. Only with time will the intensity of grief lesson allowing sweet memories to fall forward. Bless you and this family! ~Tia

    Sorry for your family's loss

Sometimes it seems like that God must be an evil person, especially when he take the young ones. But think of it this way, he as spared her the misery of having to live through this Hell-here-on-Earth that we still endure. I sure she is better off now.

    I love you Lisa,
    Brazos
