One who overlooks
my faults and silly quirks
One who doesn’t mind
her hands down in the dirt
One who sets the table
and washes that last dish
One who fans the flames
of passion’s fiery kiss
One who rocks the babies
and sings sweet lullabies
One who suffers silent
and never questions why
One who dreams the dreams
that others find remote
One who finds the time
to give me lasting hope
One who understands
the other’s point of view
If I could choose a friend
it’d be a gal like you

Aw...for me!
Leo, you are a friend like those that everyone wishes they had. A smart woman would get her hands dirty and...well...we've talked. This is true friendship. I know all about it and so do you. LOL Good luck in the contest.
Always ♥
Renee

This was very nice
Yes indeed its the one who steps in when there is trouble not step out and the one whileheard you in a whisper you say you dont care and they let out a shout
Your troubles I will share a friend by your side will always be aware
-
you've caught
... the very essence of a friend/lover in your poetical words that flowed and rhymed while demonstrating that care and concern for a happy life, away from those things that destroy a good relationship. Nice sharing my friend and keep that muse rolling! joy

oh, this poem is so beautifully written! i really like the theme and how you always started the stanzas with "One who". the last stanza is the greatest. but the whole poem expresses so perfectly what you think - and, boy, it's so true! thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us.
kudos!

this tells you plain and simple what friends are for and if you find some like that and are one yourself then you have the beginnings for a lasting friendship
