He always said:
I am a thorn bird.
Then he was given one year to live.
Medical incompetence
ended all abruptly:
within one second.
God's time
cannot be predicted.

That's a sad one. So true. No truer than now, with the bridge falling in Minnesota. Can you imagine? Driving over it, like they did every day. You just never know.

Sadly ironic.
Thank you for entering.

Potent
When i had cancer, 30 years ago, the prognosis was very bleak, all wind whipped snow- drifted plains could not compare to the desolation of heart i felt, given a 90% fatality rate, not like it is now, like Lance Armstrong going on to win 7 consecutive Tour-de-France titles in cycling…mine was, truly, a death sentence but it was only a pronouncement of man, not of God…HE had other plans for my life, my course was set by Him Who Holds All Things. So the last week was a bit nervous, finding a lump in my breast – a wake up call to the power and majesty of destiny as the mammograms and sonograms turned up negative…I know i am going to die, one day this tent will be folded away and put away, i will migrate to another land, another plain, where winds, snows and all desolations will fade away as a distant memory. I know i am going away, one day, but its not today.
Blessings and best wishes,

We all have been given a finite amount of time to live. That someone has put a number to theirs is not new or particularly meaningful. With any luck, they understood their mortality and thus had, for at least a brief moment, an appreciation of their existence. Myra, there is no such thing as medical competency. Medicine is still in its infancy, especially western medicine. Thanks for another intriguing write.

The entire concept of time is a universal fraud, an assault to scatter and trap souls. It is capable of trapping souls, not The Most High. The Light shines from your words, concisely and powerfully. Thank you for creating and sharing and good luck in the contest. Ack,
Chris

Razor sharp. "God's time cannot be predicted" - you have indicated the stark naked truth. This contrasts in an exceptional way with: 'one year of abrupt second' - the character ingraned in the thorn bird!

The science of medicine is still no match for the power of prayer or God's call. Good luck in the contest.
Sincerely,
Leo Long

Stinging irony from the mouth of so called experts, they play God when they should err cautiously lest it be their own hand that commits the sin. Beautifully but sorrowfully done dear poetesse Love, C
