The Legend of Mark True ( Revised)

Everybody has heard of the "Singing Cowboys", but there is one cowboy that didn't sing, but is just as much as a legend in his own right.

He stood for truth and the prusuit of righting wrongs. Making dreams come true
to a cancer stricken boy. Choose family over fame and fortune. Was and still
is a "Gentleman" in every sense of the word. His name is Mark True.

I've never met this legendary man, but hearing his story has made me want to be a better person. From fighting over a job order thrown on the floor, so that he could feed his family to caring for his badly injured son and giving him the courage and the will to fight.

This man's strength and determination has never once wavered. Never took the easy way out, because he believed that a "Man's worth was measured by the sweat of his brow". When he shook your hand you knew his word "Was as good as gold". They don't make too many of him anymore.

Admirable sentiments you have here, this sounds like it would make the basis of a magazine article, biographical web page etc. If you reworked it considerably it would probably become a very powerful poem, sounds like an amazing person. Be interesting to see where you may want to take this. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, there certainly is enough here to start some story or epic poem even. Do they make good guys like that these days?

Sounds like a man I would have liked to meet! And it also sounds like you were very lucky to have him in your family which you seem to know and appreciate. Good job on the poem too. The only change I would have made would have been to separate the poem into paragraphs. Otherwise not bad. - oce
