It was the day I wore that dress
I Guess!
Apple green,
I felt like a queen
I strolled casually, all knowing,
A wee bit of thigh showing
Heads turned as I passed by
Some women tut tutting,
Men whistled, not shy,
With my heart beating fast, I walked into the bar
Ordered a Martini, I felt like a star
It was then I looked up to a wink and a smile!
My heart missed a beat, I wanted to run a mile!
This guy walked over and said "Can I buy you a drink"
My confidence waned, my heart began to sink,
I stuttered "no thank you, I'm only passing by"
With my knees knocking, and legs shaking I walked out with a sigh,
He followed me and tried to take my hand,
"Please stay" he said "I do understand"
Instinct told me, Keep calm, be cool, keep your head high!
This man is a master of disguises, his words are a lie
I was stupid to think that I was in control
Wearing that dress, I was playing a role
To get rid of him, I said "I was a nun in disguise"
He laughed and said "YOUR CRAZY what lies"
He turned tut tutted and walked away,
I felt relieved, went on my way
And swore that I would NEVER again wear this dress.
For I knew that I could have gotten into a mess
Moral of this story is watch what you wear
For appearances can deceive a man and bring many a tear.

this is a funny story
I am reminded of many years ago when I, in my very early teens, bought a white sweatshirt, white jeans, and white deck shoes with white socks to match. Really I had no idea. My joy lasted about five minutes on the beach, after which I scuttled back to the cabin.
Thanks for entering
