Can I Ever Be Free

Liquor can’t do it anymore,
Silence of the blade, strikes,
Yet misses target.
Past inconsistencies, degrade
who I am.
Swollen with anguish, I
shout to the Heavens.
Lord can You hear me?
Only through You, can
I ever be free.

In the moment of creation, this moment called "Now" all is forgiven and all is cleansed. The joy is a gift that you will share forever. Let the past be past. It is over. The future is a gift yet to be expressed. Right now is where He lives for it is in this eneffable now that everything occurs.

I can feel your emotion in every line....The past seems to haunt us, doesn't it......Were it only possible to erase the pain, we could be free of it forever......Lovely poem!
