Owe It All To…

Missing image

On Wednesday I go downtown to watch an old man buy
a potion for his tart young wife, the apple of his eye.
"I'd not raised my umbrella now for nigh on seven year
till I discovered Ginseng Rush - the perfect elixir!"

  • i love little tidbits that can make me giggle.

I use to work at a gas station. There was a man that came in one night and got the over the counter "sex pills". He looked me dead in the eye, completely serious and asked me if my man had tried this yet. I said no. Then he replied you'd be smiling a lot more if he did. We both laughed.

    Thanks for the laughter!

Ginseng in its raw state is a bitter root. However when you combine Ginseng with other flavours its wonderful. ~Love Sharon~

Oh, Hugh's comment must be dealt with!

    But first your poem:

I certainly understand the power of herbal miracles. Moxie's main ingredient is gentian root, and it cures EVERYTHING...it's a fact! Just don't try to look it up...it's top secret.

Gensing Rush huh, I wonder if I could find that up here in the wilds of Maine?

Now on to teach Hugh a thing or two!

      Dear Yem,
Phabe’s Ginseng Root Beer, manufactured in 1906 is the first soft drink in the USA to compete with Coca Cola. Phabe’s was first manufactured in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. It dates back over 100 years. At that time, it was being promoted as a Health Beverage, because it was safe for Expectant Mothers and Children. In 1906, the Coca Cola product continued cocaine. You might be happy to know, the first Ginseng Beverage Phabe’s Ginseng Root Beer, contains Ginseng, Gentian, and Ginger. GINSENG RUSH® THE REAL GINSENG DEAL Since 1978.Inspired by Hugo Phabe’s 1906 Ginseng Compound Beverage™. Namaste Blessed Be, to you and yours eternally. PS. We would make such a good team. Yem…~Hugs and Love,Sharon~

    Dear Sharon,

The efficacy of GINSENG RUSH as an organic stimulant is scientifically proven. It is claimed that Adam and Eve imbibed it from the Fountain of Life before bottles were invented and Cain and his wife also quaffed copious draughts of it before they were thrown out of the Garden of Eden and charged with indecent exposure. That billions of humans descended from their mating should be proof enough even to those who claim similar properties from the much later developement of MOXIE. The gentleman described in your poem undoubtedly wasted seven fruitless years while relying on the inferior qualities of the latter until he was empowered by GINSENG RUSH to rise to the occasion.

It takes an even greater power than Moxie
to satisfy the yearnings of a doxie
but you cannot beat the flush
    that's induced by GINSENG RUSH
even dipping your umbrella in epoxy!!

Applause, love and hugs for a BRILLIANT poem! XXX Hugh (R.)

      ~My Dearest Hugh~
Did you know Wild Ginseng is the first crop ever to be exported from America? Daniel Boone traded wild Ginseng for boatloads of gold from China. The North American ginseng trade dates back to the time of frontiersmen such as Daniel Boone, who made more money selling the herb than trapping furs, according to McGraw. Though the plant populations are less abundant today, the harvest continues. In China, ginseng has been worth its weight in gold. After a Jesuit priest there described it in writings to a colleague in Canada in the mid-1700s, word of its value spread south along the frontier. Enormous quantities were exported to Asia to finance many American pioneers, most notably Daniel Boone, who gathered tons of it. By the 1850s, more than 350,000 pounds were being sold each year at about 50 cents a pound. The quantity then decreased as the plant became harder to find, and the price rose. In many places, ginseng was the most valuable product the forest offered. This continues to be true today. The Corr’s {us} presented Ginseng Rush® to the world in 1978. The world of beverages has never been the same. Not only did Ginseng Rush® launch the all-natural soda category, it also lays claim as the first functional beverage of modern times. Let us also mention the invigorating potency of Ginseng, revered in the Orient for over 5,000 years. Here is to your health with great taste! Thank you for your beautiful comment and applauses, I appreciate you very much. ~XXX Hugs, and Love, Sharon~

        Dear Sharon,

I know that the Moxie addicts will rise in fury over the indisputable facts presented in my comment and in your interesting and historical reply.
Although Moxie gained a wide following in Pharaonic times as an embalming fluid, it was corn, oil and GINSENG RUSH (then known as NO-RUSH from the land of NO whence it was obtained) with which the pyramid builders and workers were paid and which provided their vigour and endurance.
As Rameses III said to Queen Hatsepshut: "Let us tarry a while, there is NO-RUSH!"

Ah Hugh, you are usually so wise, but this time?

I'm not sure what Adam and Eve were drinking but it wasn't Ginseng Rush! Ginseng Rush is not even 30 years old. Moxie pre-dates it by about 100 years!

      "inferior qualities of the latter?"

If the old man had Moxie he'd have no need of a wife...for as we like to say here in the hinterlands, "Moxie IS!"

And Moxie also doubles as a paint stripper and in a pinch as a 30 weight motor oil... And it also makes a perfectly acceptable embalming fluid!
