Nothingness

My thoughts would come in meter - rhyme

and dance around ignoring time...

but time, it often changes things

my mind in rhyme no longer rings...

I work and sleep and eat - that's it

that's all I do, ain't that some shit?

My life has turned to ‘nothingness'

and now I hide within its bliss...

It keeps me out of trouble, see?

No time for men - a better me!

Relationships just bog one down

this girl ain't no man's golden crown!

For love is nothing but a joke

and fam'ly leaves with time's quick stroke.

So better off I am alone

at least the pain always stays gone...

I felt this was a little diminished by the slang usages and I am confused about meters - gas meters? electric meters? or what? And "stays gone" is a bit inelegant I do feel.

    Sis!

    How come I understand this?

There have been times, when I was seeing a woman I would say to myself: "I don't like who I am in this relationship."

I would say that even when doing the right thing.

There's something so sad about the last line. To me the saddest part of the line is "at least" (I think).

    With respect, your friend,
    B

    Sometimes nothingness is everything.

And even in nothingness love still prevails, it's just that the subject of that love changes. It becomes the most deserving YOU!

    This is nice poem.

I love this. Its flow was so easy on the reader. I really felt my self go from one line to the next without feeling the transition.

    So beautiful my friend.

    Exquisite

Sometimes we need a time of "nothingness." A time to
gel into the mold He has set for us. In silence He often speaks the loudest.

Personally, if I may, I have found that in those times I can just barely make it through a day (for days on end) He really is just preparing me to receive something special. It could be a simple pearl of wisdom, or a deep and painful truth, but it is still preparation...and always it is a blessing, rich in spiritual growth.

How have you been? Aren't men a treat! This is acually rather cute and also poignant. Some of the rhymes could be a tad tighter but the essence of the piece is spot on.

It is always a pleasure to see your fine words
even when some lines poked at fun about turds
but others show sadness by the mention of man
but this one stays silenced more than some others can

and if time is a healer then we'll all be cured
when we see once again to our home you were lured
but it goes without saying you are missed around here
and you'll know this is true by the sounds of our cheer

but if being alone is the path that you choose
remember our friendships are ones you won't lose
so to close with respect and the clappys I post
remember your welcome in the contests we'll host

now never forget in our hearts you will stay
and wide open arms be the order of the day
so until you are blessed with some time on your hands
remember our walks upon those peaceful sands

    signing off with honour
and blessings to you and your family

stay safe and keep smiling Angel

You haven't heard from me lately for probably the same reason this piece discloses. I had thought of you often but seem to have no power to do anything about it. Or no power to do anything about much of anything. As a poet I don't always assume the write is personal, perhaps, but maybe not. Either way it pretty much describes the slump I have been fighting of late. Wanted to talk to you about Clearwater if you have the time soon? Your words are always a refreshing invention, even if the note is somber. RC

    Good

It's good to see you writing again and certainly this piece shows your talent. I'm saddened by the pain which is so obviously displayed in these lines. I know you have been through a lot in your life but please don't give up on love. Love is as real as the morning sunrise, or the gentle caress of soft summer rain. If you give up on love, that really means you are giving up on yourself; and you have too much to offer to shut yourself off from the greatest gift that God has given humankind. Hang in there....don't give up....Please!!!!

It is good to see you return, even briefly, to offer us a look inside your world...as others have said, you are missed here.

I agree with Samplette and Poetic Whisperer... It is good to see you back... and you are something here. There are times when wallowing in nothing seems to be so much easier... I'm sorta there now... but it only feels good becasue I am numb... and I think it may be easier that way... BUT... when stuck in this nothingness, it is both bad AND good feelings that aren't there. Sometimes it's the bad that makes us appreciate the joy...

glad to see you rambling than not see you at all. I do hate seeing you in a secret pain though. One you can't even see yourself. A wonderful write...you have such a great gift...I am looking forward to when your joy returns.
