I walked by you every day
But you saw someone not meant to be
Like a reflection it wasn't real
Cause my mask always hid me
You saw a girl that tried to be perfect
But behind the mask she was afraid
You saw someone that was never scared
But you didn't see how her nightmares were made
Behind her mask no one saw the tears
And no one thought she was sad
If you removed the mask she'd fall to pieces
And everyone would feel bad
She was fragile like a piece of glass
Her heart kept breaking and nobody knew
Nobody understood that her mask hid her scars
And cutting was all she could do
She didn't know how to stop the pain
And nobody was there to listen to her cry
So the girl she once knew hid behind the mask
Until one day she'd eventually die
