Nevada Sunset

Beneath the full moon
shadows slither to the peaks
of island mountains

    Sensual Indeed

This poem was very appealing to me. I love nature, I've read your comments.

It's absolutely true. It is quite sensual... I don't think many people truly understand what we're trying to say when we describe to them the beauty and simplicity of a slight breeze to caress the blazing leaves of autumn or the push and pull of the ocean waves. Of course they think it's beautiful... but they don't understand it like you and I.

slither is a great word. The fact you would use a word that would be applied to an animal in your poem is genius.

Somebody tell industrial sharman that it is the shadows that are "slithering" not the full moon!.
Very visual Zahhar, well done. Val

as the sun sets, the ridges cast shadows on the opposing ridges, and if you're watching, the shadows move up the mountains toward the peaks in a slithery pattern. it's quite beautiful, and almost sensual.

The full moon does not "slither". But alas, your words prove otherwise.

Wish I could go to Nevada!!!!

Those teenagers you spoke of must have had some awesome gas money...if I had a lot of money I might have gone round and round too in the car...but all the money goes for gas to get places!...so yeah..lol

I wasn't going to comment here but then I thought of something....the mountains are like my mountains....when the sun drops behind them the shadows can be seen as it is setting...they do look as if they are slithering... and almost every sunset has purple and pink poofy things all around the sun as it goes down...really beautiful...infact just thinking about it makes me want to go watch it go down over the mountains this evening....great write, again....lol
