As I sit on this bench, beneath this tree,
I take a long look around and think of what I see.
Children, running and playing, everyone seems so happy everywhere,
The flowers in full bloom, and the elderly couple just over there.
As I sit on this bench, beneath this tree,
I think and imagine of just what others are thinking and what they want to be,
The old antique clock that somehow only reads two fifteen,
Everywhere I look, everything seems so healthy and so green.
Watching a young couple stroll by, hand in hand,
Seeing children playing hide and seek by the old bandstand,
Seeing other so cheerful, makes me feel warm inside,
Sitting here on this bench, wanting someone with arms open wide…
Author notes
I had gone along to the local town and decided to have lunch in the gardens there, it was a beautiful day so I sat and wrote about what I could see around me...and here it what came of my afternoon in the garden...
