Few share, most from self-knowledge shrink,
fear fragility in all that matters,
form's fiction dressed as causal link
providing prism which self-image flatters -
self-fulfilling dish. Who's dished, who'd wink ?
or care to think, life soon torn to tatters,
Sharing opens fresh perspective's pane,
light split then recombined sheds masks, sped pain.

i wish i was capable of extending the kind of comments i would want, but altogether i'm horrible at commenting and have an unconcious focus on aestetics rather then the meaning. deep deep poems go over my head and i'm to lazy to interprit them. but since this is a contest, and you did remind me of the golden rule, let me try it.
people shrink from self knowledge
(fear fragility in all that matters?)fear loss of posesions?
thinking lightly of their flaws
seeing what they want to see rather than what they are
who'd favor such a thing?
life is short
sharing (hidden meaning?) broadens
the right you do makes up for past wrongs
if i misinterprited it (and i know i have) please explain it to me, so that i can share the ground with you smart people
anyways AESTHETICALY it was good, the rhymes were a nice touch (i'm a fan) i cant thank you enough for entering!

Very ingenious, fifty words for each part of the prompt. And It is a wonderful meld together, thank you so much for your entry.
