Mirror And Me

Contrast worlds, disbelief

Unfiltered eyes, I see...

Me!

Morbid,
      mortal,
              aged....
                      frailty

Time, like sand against stone

Youth... is gone.

Unable to escape… me, behind me

Fogged, nostalgic shadows continue to be

Like chain and ball following me

Silhouette targets once stumbling blocks

Leer hauntingly into tomorrow’s clock

Gray tide washes in, tinting infant mane

Rolling into my mirror, cracking its frame

Is it in my mind what I see?

Or
  is
    it
      really…

Me!?

A great poem about ageing. I think everyone can relate to this.

It really shows how upsetting it can be to realise that time is overtaking you.

Well written, I like the layout.

Thankyou and good luck in the contest!!
