Together Green

Together, though we never were apart:
For we, from common earth, once did arise
Where root and stem did join us at the start,
Regardless that we reached for varied skies.
That golden glow, we clambered for, the same,
Of light to fill each ragged limb with life
Allowing that our strength add to the frame,
Each branch supporting many others' strife.
Some offshoots never meet but should recall
They rest beneath the shade of other leaves;
It does not matter how the green shall sprawl
Each fragile child is moved by the same breeze.
This tangled whole of ancient wood, one tree,
With names that all translate to family.

    very good

what a brilliant line of imagery
"This tangled whole of ancient wood, one tree,
With names that all translate to family."
it may be that if you continue to post such beautiful prose,
you will be obligated to change your screen name

Wow, this almost sounds like Wordsworth in its romanticism and Shakespeare in its movement ... wonderfully done
