Who Died?

Personally;

It matters not that you've lost
the essence of me,
the spirit,
soul...

I am no longer engaged in your world.
There is no recompense for Death,
no consequence,
it is truly
the finale of Life,
nothing more.
The everlasting of it even.

What can I tell you about dying?

It depends upon what you believe,
and if you would consider
an expert's opinion.

There is no such thing as Death!
That's right--
Your number is never up.
If it were,
you wouldn't be sitting here
reading this poem,
as I spin words from the grave.
Ever heard of "Graveyard Poetry"?

Maybe not.

You gotta be connected,
I guess.

    I disagree with your comment but then it wasn't my contest to judge so, I regress. LOL

    I think the envelope could have been pushed even further, as in an afterlife. I like this poem. It's dark, sinister, uncaring, and unfeeling. It embarks on the voice of death as if there is some type of doom in dying. The reality of this work is...no one truly knows what Death is like because they cannot comeback, and for sure the "graveyard" is where all those who have died now reside, no matter our beliefs. Excellent penning in my finite opinion poet.

    I see why you may not have been back to the site in awhile. It seems you've been given the shaft in the only two poems you've written this site. Tsk, tsk... (shakes head) not everyone at AP is as critical as it may seem. Hope to see you back soon.

    Much Love & hearts;

    Renee

    It was

    strained. Death itself would have been enough but you kind of pushed it with adding the graveyard. Thanks for entering and the best of luck to you. Kassie
