You said you loved me,
You said you'd always care
I should have known better,
You were never truly there.
Your heart was always elsewhere.
Your eyes were always seeking
I was never enough for you
Anatomically speaking.
You swore I was the one.
That I made your soul whole
You'd wait for me forever you said.
And so I slipped under your control.
We became a couple once more
And I thought you were mine.
I fell for your fairy-tale lies
Thinking everything would be just fine.
Then I got the age old line
"We need to have a serious conversation."
I knew it could only end,
In my utmost devastation.
You've broken my heart for the last time
It won't seek you out any longer
I'm rebuilding my wall.
Heartbreak-proof and stronger.

Those two lines are my favorites. It reminds me of that one quote. "And I'd never thought I'd see the day when a BOY had more control over me than I did." You've probably heard it before. Yes, anyway, enough with the connections. Your poetry always speaks to me!! I haven't been able to find many poems aside from yours that I can relate to -- excellent job! :]

That's my favorite line.And I'm not ashamed to say I have my own wall build up too.And no one has fully gotten through yet.I think you got right to the point with this poem. You thinkl everything is perfect and then...bam!! Everything comes crashing down. I also loved the title because it's so true. Every girl (or most) dream of their farytale prince and he just isn't real.
Sad, but true. Loved this!!!!!!!! Keep writing your very good at it.
