She makes me focus on her beauty

I feel lost
when you're slowly disappearing
in the mist of your own world

I feel sad
when the distance between us
becomes disproportionately wide

I feel powerless
when I'm not capable
to lift the burden off your shoulders

The only thing I can do
is to keep loving you

When times of distress enter my world
and situations ask for me to be strong
I take a walk, hand in hand with nature
and I'll spill my sorrow, all the way long

I ask the questions, that roam my mind
in silence she listens to all my sorrow
Then let a soft breeze empty my head
and I know I can face another tomorrow

She makes me focus on her beauty
and lay aside the pain for a while
Showing her skill to survive disaster
Eventually she even makes me smile

Filled with her strength, I'm returning home
my heart unburdened, my mind set free
I'll take up the task to be the strong one again
until you decide to come back to me

So

When you feel lost, or sad or powerless
just put your soul into nature's hands
and tell her all about your pain and sorrow
She will comfort you, because she understands

Author notes

First poem I wrote many years ago, when my husband suffered from severe depressions. I used it as an intro to my poem for this contest.
