Siblings

Went out with my family,
to a movie.
I thought it was funny-
my mother thought it was "groovy".
Then we went out to eat,
nothing fancy.
We had fun,
laughing at stories of a dog that can't see,
and a cat that can't hear.
My brother's started acting funny,
I thought they were just being annoying.
They asked for money.
As we drove to Wall-mart,
they got happy,
my sister, too,
it was if someone had gone, "Zappy".
This was all too strange,
my siblings not fighting?
My mother asked me to grab some milk,
and I went past the little girl who was screaming.
I was so happy my siblings were older.
When I returned, they were not in sight.
It was if they had given me the cold shoulder.
I saw Mom.
She came and said,
"They are already in the van."
as we hurried through the self-check,
we butted right in front of an old man.
I smiled my apologies as we left,
I felt very sorry-
for cutting in front of him like that.
We hopped into the van and sped away,
spilling a bag of cans all over the floor mat.
That was easy enough to pick up,
as we unloaded goods,
plopping them in the kitchen.
Mom asked me If I could,
go find out the weather for the  next day.
I went to do what I was told,
when I heard a loud, "Happy Birthday!"
exploding from behind the couch, and the stairwells.
How did they get there??!!!
All of my friends had parked in the driveway over,
decorated the house,
and made a cake(the poor thing was falling over).
My siblings handed me their presents,
25 cent rings, gum balls, and candy.
I was so proud,
boy, are they handy.
Mom told me it was all my siblings' idea,
them wanting me to be so excited,
I'd do all their chores for a week,
I told them they were appreciated.
But NO WAY were they getting out of their chores!
I went to sleep with a smile on my lips that night,
thanking God for such great brothers and a sister,
that is, until 4:38 in the morning, they turn on the light.
