    Ha-this is true. And you make a fortune off those tubes today, this is a cool remembrance. At least my dad had to chnge a tube when it blew out!

    I really like the image of the junkyard "silver jingle" and even the memory of those TV tubes you've written in this haiku, JTH...Remember those machines set up in hardware stores and such where you could actually test the old TV tubes? Now a new TV tube, much less a TV repairman probably costs more than a new TV set!
