No Fear in Black and White

The Twilight Zone grays
Sent chills up and down my spine,
Igniting my fears.

The My Three Sons' warmth
Teased me with humor for laughs
To forget my fears.

Highflying Sky King
Took me to new heights for good,
Overcame my fears.

Author notes

The Twilight Zone, My Three Sons and Sky King, some of my favorites from those days.

Yes, these shows too ring a bell and bring back some memories of those golden oldie years. Those were the days....liked the flow and the last line in each verse.

      Thank you!

They don't make good shows like that anymore. Some come close, but like your first love, they pale in comparison.

    Adorable

Ahhhhh, thanks for the nostalgic ride through the days when everything was black and white. The good guys always won, parents were always fair and wise and any dilemma could be solved in half an hour. I still catch the stray episode of the Twilight Zone on the Sci Fi channel and they still give me a thrill. Wasn't it Fred McMurray on My Three Son's? Sky's daughter was named Penny, didn't the plane have a name also? My my, haven't thought about these for awhile. Thank you!!!

      Thank you!

Yes, Fred MCmurray was the father on My Three Sons. I had to look up the plane's name. We watched it because it was our mother's favorite. The plane was called "Songbird" and the last episode was played in 1959. WOW! Penny was his daughter.

    bery good

    the title says so much
    it's true
i grew up on those shows
    but
    you were home, safe, secure
the twilight zone was weird for a kid, so morbid, but i still watch the marathons on cable
but still, you got the plot, and turned it off
    no fear
    same for sky king
he got into some deep stuff with the plane
but we sort of knew he would win
    yeah, the 40's, 50's
    and
    you
    a great poet
    thanks

I still watch the 24-hour Twilight Zone marathons when they're on--(Though I'm never awake for my favorite episodes). I forgot all about My Three Sons--(Wonder what became of Uncle Charlie???) and though I don't remember Sky King, you've written a lot of old TV memories in this haiku-chain!

Thank you for this great entry to the contest, Queens!
