Akashic Confessions - VIDEO RECITAL

I am silent space hosting all elements
subtle substratum of vibration and sound
omnipresent expansiveness without boundaries
invisible magician of mystic transformation

I know not of earth’s solid structure of foundation
nor am I burdened by its defensive walls of rigidity
for I am weightless touch of butterfly’s wing
lighthearted freedom of unlimited formlessness

I feel not fire’s fervent flames of passion
nor am I shattered by its volcanic explosions of anger
for I am soothing coolness of ocean’s breeze
sangfroid essence of eternal emptiness

I move not with water’s whimsical waves of devotion
nor do I drown in its stagnant pools of nostalgia
for I am innocent smile on baby’s lips
detached presence of solemn serenity

I soar not in air’s creative currents of inspiration
nor do I fear its impulsive tornados of rebellion
for I am soundless whisper of angel’s voice
immobile center of blissful oneness

Meet me in the core of your undisturbed mind
I am the space between two thoughts
the stillness between two breaths
my expression is silence - my nature peace

Follow me to the primordial source of manifestation
comforting cradle of your sighing soul
for I am akasha residing in Purusha
your own subtle spirit dwelling in Oneness

* sangfroid … detached (literally : coldblooded)
** akasha … sanskrit for ether
*** purusha … sanskrit for the essential being, the higher self

The fifth element, the quintessence, is called ETHER, and is the subtlest of all elements. Ether is the empty space filled by all objects. It is contained within earth, water, fire and air as their capacity to take form and their potentiality of growth …

I really enjoyed reading this poem then watching you read it. You are one talented young lady and I must say it is nice to watch a person read with such a lovely smile on their face. That is something I would love to see more of. Thank you for this entry

I watched the video and then came here to read these beautiful thoughts...There is so much to love in every line and I am awed of those lines which catch the essence of 'being' especially the unmeasurable space between two thoughts and the stillness between two breaths..those fleeting things that you have captured with your words.

Yep! this is what I wanted

in round three. It's too bad it's a prewrite. It is a free verse masterpiece. What can I say to get you back in? I have to respect your choice, just don't have to like it. Thanks Marion, for the beautiful share.

this catches as much as one can the space of sublime freedom that exists when one is nolonger unawakened, no longer caught in the lies of the ego. Beautifully expressed, even if as Buddhist say "The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon," this poem in its own right sings a lullabye and a smile that gives grace to soul.

    Excellent Piece

The poem captures so well the thoughts I do greatly appreciate. It is of immense pleasure, my sister, that you wrote this for me. Its a great honour. Thank you very much. The wording is excellent. The idea of monism has been brought out with delicate poetic touch. Congratulations for such a wonderful write. God bless you!

    Dear Poet,
I feel the cool touch of Krishna's flute falling
through the cracks of cacophony, the melifluous
breeze of eternal stillness, melting the chains
    of bondage.

This is exactly what I AM looking for in this contest.
Thank you for entering IS THERE A GOD & WHAT IS IT
    contest.
Thank you for supplying definitions, although, I am
familiar with sanskrit terms, at least the most
heard ones and sangfroid as calmness of mind.
You have followed the rules perfectly, inspired
the reader, and pleased the soul within the
    silent breath.

The only critique if I were to offer one is that
of "the earth's solid structure of foundation"

it fit with the following line yet somehow it
broke the free-flowing ease as I had need to stop
and look at that more than twice.

    Powerful

Such a way with expressing such peace that flows within the breeze of poetry.. The sea within the dolphin, the music inside a lover's hearstrings that strum eternally.. I just adored this, and it calms the spirit beautifully.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Much love, Timothy aka poeticweaver~

I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite or "best" piece from the many you've written in the course of this contest, but think this was an excellent choice. Although I loved all the poems from the last round, this was my personal favorite and I was not at all surprised by how close your and Laura's scores were. Congrats on the silver...it was very well deserved. Thank you also for your huge support during the many rounds of this contest...it's meant more to me than I can even say.

    Love and s
    ~J.
    P.S. Good luck!

The wording in this has very bold and powerful in a way, you gave a smart, wise voice to something so...beautiful. Stunning poem.

I am the space between two thoughts
    the stillness between two breaths

I thought the phrasing here was awesome. Your strong point was defiantly your imagery, though I felt the emotion and metaphor could've been stronger.

    Wonderful ending also. Good job

Wow, I thought this was phenomenal. In my opinion, your best of the contest! The way you spoke of all the things that akasha is NOT was so perfect. To try to describe what it IS alone would not have fulfilled your purpose. Also to use the inverted phrases like "I move not," "I feel not," gave such a timeless feel to your piece.

You have some incredible images here. I thought it was so clever to incorporate fire, water, and air into your piece and to contrast/compare akasha to them. My favorite description of it was:

Meet me in the core of your undisturbed mind
I am the space between two thoughts
    the stillness between two breaths
my expression is silence - my nature peace

I was just so totally impressed with this piece. It rose to an ethereal beauty that is really quite breathtaking.

    Wonderful approach to the assignment!!!

I felt like I was taking a journey, into that element with you, and seeing, feeling, rejoicing in its' glory!
Akasha is such a mysterious and gentle spiritual element, that most would be hard pressed to reach it, but it's not impossible. you've brought Akasha into full focus here. You are indeed a Wise Woman, and I echo Laura's sentiments! Good luck in the contest!
