Waste management

World leaders are pontificating
About the effect of global warming
Symposium after symposium
Talking-talking on every podium.
Everyone is putting forward their own solution.
Mine is a minor revolution.
Abolish all those re-cycling stations!
Now modify your expectations.
After you have made your perfect purchase,
Give up your desire to ditch and replace.
Each yearly change simply for fashion
Makes massive inroads into our resource ration.
Exchanging for something equally effective
Needs a mind that is surely defective.
Try keep-using and don’t keep abusing.

Author notes

Perhaps if we didn't have to keep up-grading for the most trivial of reasons our resources would survive much longer and that includes the massive amounts of energy spent on goods that are dumped when fashion changes.

    hi my dear uncle

    I'm back, as promised.
Yes, there should be something done seriously about this global problem.
    Wish you wonderful days.

That was quick, welcome back as always.
I agree that something needs to be done SERIOUSLY many of the suggestions such as selling carbon emissions are silly and only allows polluters to continue.

I agree 100%! We have become a wasteful society, particularly in the entertainment business.

I would have said clothing myself!
The number of people who scrap perfectly usuable clothes because they are last years (or last months) fashion is unbelievable. If you saw me you would realise I believe more in utility than fashion
I know Charity Shops benefit from some of them but a lot more, particularly teen and twenties stuff is just dumped.
Anyway thanks for reading this and for your support with my other recent efforts.

Yes,clothing is one of the things the entertainment business is wasteful on-especially in America where it's for their hand-sized little pooches...*gag*! We need to just put an end to Paris Hilton,Nicole Richie,Lindsay "where's my drugs?"Lohan and of course,Britney. Shoes should not cost more than $30. Not $1,000's. I feel the same as it being a utility. It's for protection under weather conditions. As long as it's clean, who cares. The only charity shop I know is The Salvation Army. I have donated to them clothes I gained too much weight for You are welcome for the support. You have been my favorite poet on this site. Take care!
