Delicate pink, vibrant purple, blazing white
Roaming the moors, wild, unbridled, free
Sewn together, bound tight, a patchwork quilt
You could cross the hills on the backs
Of such a timeless, romantic herd
Or perhaps in the shadow of a church alcove
Wrapped in purple on an Easter morning
Strands of minute bells laughing and chiming
Blooming for me, with love. They are
Domesticated, and the first of my herd
Author notes
Heather is my favorite flower, whether it is blanketing the moors or livening up my flowerbed, I love it. Thanks, dear for starting my "herd." It was one of the best presents I've ever received.

I see the blossoming flowers and smell their fragrant beauty.
Such a vivid write. Quite graceful.
Very nice
