Scissors

My room,
my scissors,
myself.

My frustration,
my pain,
my blood,

my fault!

No one hears,
no one near,
just as well!

My room,
my scissors,
my jealousy,

my anger.

Fuck me.
Fuck everyone,
but most of all, fuck him.

My world,
my scissors,
his throat,

his blood!

Now,
they understand!

3/11/93

Author notes

Another circa 1993 piece. Very much abstract, strange and very minimalist for me this piece. Once again, vaguely unsure whether all the anger and bile is directed at someone else, or moreso myself.

Another insight into my 1993 headspace, I guess.

This hurts me, because it sounds like the kind of attitude I'd adopt and take on... self mutilation to just hurt myself, because I think I deserve it and even others actions to me are my fault. Very sad and hurting to know you have felt this way too.

Thank you very much. The self mutilation reference in this piece partially refers to actual self-mutilation (that I did do at least once), but it's more playing with it as a metaphor for self mental mutilation, if that makes any sense?

Oh I'm so glad you didn't show me these when I was in my angry phase. Just imagine the damage we could inflicted together

I like this piece in particularly because it's not how or what you typically write. It's a really good insight into the scope of your abilities.

Thank you. Yeah, we would have been out of control. It is different for me, my writing, at least stylistically was very different back then. But also, can't help but reflect on reading a lot of my old stuff, the more things change.....

Thank you. It is a really odd flow, but I did tend to do that back then. Would just write, let it come out and not really care about the structure.
