I looked at the little child,
Who was almost begging for help,.
She wanted to know,
how to save her parents from death
I told her a little secret
Even though I could not help,
Her parents fate,
A bunch of little butterflies,
were circling her face.
I said,
"I know this isn't easy
But it is the truth I must tell.
Do not mourn your parents
Cherish the memories of them,
For they surely wish you well."
The little child cried,
But knew the mysterious lady was right,
That her time with her parents,
Was to be her lifes light.

such a sad poem that you wrote. but you know the way you wrote it was beautifully done. I like the third stanza and I felt like that applied to me as well. going through something similar with past memories of my own mother.
this is an excellent poem. great job and good luck in the contest.

I truly think theses lines could someday be passed on for generations to come as a message of consolement.
