See the rose that floats?
The one floating in the water stream?
I placed my memories on it, of hope sadness and peace
All placed there with tired hands on those beautiful petals
Yet it will float on without my help
It will float on down the river as those dreams fade and I age
For someone else to see and enjoy
Farewell beautiful petals, bear my memories well, on down the stream

Oh wow...what beautiful image...
"I placed my memories on it, of hope sadness and peace
All placed there with tired hands on those beautiful petals"
Those lines espeically screamed word magick in my ear...in that one image I saw so many things, I felt so much, and I thought...
This poem is magickal!

You are a great poet, and if I have to say it a million times for you to finally stio replying with "pshaw", then I'll say it a million and one times for you to believe me. You are a GREAT POET!!!!! *hugs* And the fact that it's pink and flowery doesn't detract from your masculinity at all.

The image I get as I read this is of someone, having just passed a major crossroads in his or her life, placing a well-worn journal upon the water, and letting it go as a symbol of moving on, though I'm sure that's not what your rose symbolizes.
There is a quality of sadness about the piece (the whole letting go of memories and dreams), and yet the hope remains, that someone else might be inspired by them. Thanks so much for entering my contest!

As always my son you have done a wonderful job. I could see those dreams drifting past on their way down the river to perhaps some lucky soul that would find them. Maybe one day those dreams will once again find you. Great Work

Awwwwwww. This was a wonderful write, in that "I wish I could keep this forever" type of pain. Wonderful job, nearly made me cry.

Another heart-wrenching piece of love, joy, beauty and sadness in the parting "down the stram"
