And tanned people
White sandy beaches crowded
with happy families playing in the water
this may be your paradise
but it is not mine
bright blue skies
hold no attraction to me
the sun shining down
pesters me like an annoying insect forever biting my pale skin
my paradise
is dark skies
and heavy rain
grey landscapes
my heart does not rest
in the home of the tanned
where people flock
to buy useless tat
my heart rests
where the sun rarely shines
BUT my sun does
The one person who lights up
The dark and dank world
That I so love

May not sound like the post card images
of sun sea sand and sex
but it is my paradise which I shall never leave

i recently went to Los Christianos in Tenerife which was a birthday present as i recently turned 18 and it disgusted me (apart from some joke signs they had they made me laugh) i climbed the mountain behind my apartment which is only a few 100 feet or so and when i got to the top i realised that it was just like my home except it was hotter and the english was a bit better it disgusted me to no end how people choose to holiday in a place where you get african men selling cheep knock off disigner sun glasses and african women toturing tourist women with inept hair braiding and had a burger king mcdonalds and a sub way less then 5 minutes apart. the only remotly spanish thing i had was some sangria any way my rant is almost over the last thing that really disgusted me was my sister getting it so that the one person i wanted there wasn't becuase of some psychological desire for me to remain her little brother dispite the fact i am more mature then her even though she is 4 years older....rant over. i would be surprised if many get this far but those who did...WHY?
