We only knew each other, a short time ,thats true
It didn`t take long, for me to fall in love , with you
Perhaps it did happen, the very first day
Was it then, you stole my heart away?
We talked and laughed, for the first month or so
Each and every day, my feelings for you, did grow
It was about that time, I decided to ask you out
I would treat you nice, and be a gentleman, no doubt
To a restuarant, I did take you, wined an dined, just us two
I was very nervous at the start, believe me dear, that is true
Then, to the dancehall, I thought I would, take a chance
Asked you, sweet lady, if you would like to dance
For hours, we danced, you were in my arms
I told you sweetheart, of my many charms
Then along came my chance, it was too good to miss
You had your eyes closed, and I gave you a kiss
Should I have done that, I started to think
But you grabbed me, darling, and before I could blink
Our lips again met, it was certainly bliss
That sealed our love, it was the perfect kiss
Twelve years later, we are still very much in love
Every day I count my blessings, and thank God above
That first kiss, must have had the right effect
But, kissing you anytime, darling, is simply perfect

this is a very sweet poem and it reminds me of my bf who is very sweet and i fell in love at first sight. we had talked for months then i decided it was time to tell him i thought he was very good looking. i am a chicken but that is ok with me now we r 2gether. great write and i hope you the best
