The weather here is, oh! so wet,
the sky is always grey.
We haven`t had any summer yet.
But I guess experts will say.
We have a drought.
Fields like lakes are everywhere.
Boats on roads where cars should be.
Faces of people in despair.
It is very sad to see,
the devastation wrought.
Building on flood plains.
Permission granted,
By those that stood to gain.
All so thoughtlessly awarded.
Now many left distraught.
Author notes
Many places in England under floods and bottled
water being given to stranded people.
Many being rescued by boat.#

I'm so sorry your country is having this weather condition. It's difficult for many people. I hope you and your family are not suffering with this problem. The write is heartfelt. I wish you a winning place in the contest.

Thank you Dixiebme, for your concern, none of my family
are near the flooded areas, just but luck I guess. The
forcasters say there is more rain to come. I can`t
imagine how these poor people are going to cope. Even
after the water has gone the months of clearing up will
be awful. You have had your fair share in America of
seeing what devistation nature can do.

Wow...so devestating! Your imagery here is good. It's kind of funny- some places in my country have problems with being extremely dry; so much so that lightning storms have been setting huge forests on fire. Good job with the rhyme.
