Its bitter-sweet simplicity
The ever taunting phantom
Many are too hasty
Once we taste it
We can not stop
But we don't give it credit
It makes our hearts beat nonstop
This draft of death
Can give us life,
Take away our breath
Or stab us with a knife
Some live for it
Some die for it
Some misunderstand it
Some abuse it
But one thing remains the same:
No matter what it has done before
Deep down we all want its flame
Though many are unsure
Because most know its harsh sting
But they hold to a hope
Of what they've seen:
Couples balancing on the tightrope
So many watch
To see if they will fall
As fate plays hopscotch
With their downfall
And should they come tumbling down
Two more brave souls will take their spots
Though they too could soon be face down
Face down with ominous thoughts
So remember to all
This poison is not to be taken lightly
Nor is it to be thought small
But to be taken cautiously
With deep thought and care
For the scars are hard to erase
And success is rare
But nothing can replace
The bitter-sweet tinge
Of love and loss
Though some may twinge
At the strange chaos
There is non better than
A bitter-sweet poison,
Love with out plan,
And a smile past its season

aww this is so sad....but its still a beautiful write. some people take love for granted for what ever reason and i totally am guilty of that...and it pains me that he doesnt know...ahem...anyway lol i got offf topic! This great..raw talent here..usually when people think of love they go into mushy gushy bull shit. lol and only one person is allowed to that way with me. Nice take on love and heart break!

Wow! Superbly written!
And yes, love CAN be a
poison SOMETIMES! It's
hard to deal with but there
is a love that will NEVER go
away or leave you asstray.
His name: Jesus Christ.
He loves you no matter what!
I loved this poem
because it made me
think about love's
simplicity and yet
complexity IN its
being so simple...

I think it's a tad bit over twenty lines though...might want to trim it a bit....take a look at the rules...before judging...Ok?
