A Religion

No music would dare grace my sight without
That following it has of music-loves,
The backyard junkies, opera singers, doves,
Expression-- that's what music is about!
"My music is my soul!" so many call,
And thus it leads, and feet are led, unshod,
Yet blessed are the followers, their god,
The Church of Music saves them from the fall...

Too suddenly, discord can crest- mistake-
And no salvation comes by way of chords;
I couldn't bear to loose that music true!
And so, before the purity can break
And push musicians to the *other* lords,
We must rejoice, and sing, 'till we are blue!
