It is my favorite thing
I looked for days and days
I’d lost my little ring
I asked the barnyard rooster
If he’d seen it lying ’round
He said no but that he’d look
And he searched the ground
I went into the hen house
And I had to plead and beg
For each and every one of them
Was trying to lay an egg
I then went to the pig pen
Where mom and piglets stay
But they hadn’t seen it either
And went on with their play
The rabbits and the baby calf
All said that they were sorry
But they would look around
And not for me to worry
I was about to give up my search
Go without my little ring
I’d get another someday perhaps
Such happiness it would bring
But as I walked on sadly
My spirits and my head cast down
What I saw before me
Wiped away my frown
What I had worn on feathered wing
Through wind and rain and snow
And somehow had misplaced
Now shone brightly on my toe

A wonderful children's poem, easy to understand and with an especially funny ending.

Fun Write
I really enjoyed this light hearted write. It was so cute with all the farm animals. It reminded my of my grandmas ranch. Anyway the title The Case Of The Lost Ring and the first line I thought I had lost it, than the last line Now shone brightly on my toe. Very cure write. Thank you also for your kind comments on my poetry, even though they are very dark sometimes. Blessings to you Kelle Marie, stavykm

I was about to suggest that this was a poem suited for Granny Goose's page. It's cute, I like fun poems like this...as you know, I'm still a kid at heart (and sadly in the brain, lol)
I like chicken, and since this isn't Granny's page, I'll just add...with biscuits and gravy.

Lol... You just can't beat fried chicken, biscuits and grave, Yem. I'm glad not many people like cooked goose as much... after all, geese are fat and ornery and you have to fight with them to get them to stand sill long enoug to get their heads chopped off.
Glad you liked this poem, it's one of my first ones on y Granny Goose page and I decided it might work in this contest
Glad you enjoyed it
... You did say you enjoyed it, right?
