Anxiety comes in many masks
The mask of fear is being alone
Your heart pounds deep within you, because of fear
The body shakes like an earthquake is coming
You feel like hiding, so that no one can find you
Your mind races like a race car reaching the speed of its time
Your mind is having an overload of thoughts
The mind’s thoughts are as jammed as if it‘s rush hour
The movement of your body is as still as a statue
The muscles are as tight from tension as vise grips are grasped
The chest hurts from the worry of fear
Your breathing is fast and heavy during the anxiety attack
Oh Lord! Please help with this attack
Finally, the breathing becomes sluggish and deep
And worry free from fear for the moment
Anxiety comes in many masks.
