Ingrained memories surface
as I struggle through the maze
to make sense of today.
Like the intricate labyrinth
of streets
in cities of centuries ago
there are left
only remnants.
Worn from experience
I trace the residue
recognising I have always been
an oddment, isolated.
Surrounded
by an empty,
emotionless ocean
I dress in readiness
to become life's next relic.
