The Lesson

© 7-19-07

Learning to be seen as strange,
An off-scouring of society;
A common plight: to seem deranged,
With silence from the Almighty;
My mouth moves; my pen writes;
Falls into grooves, but out of sight;

Learning to be misunderstood;
No one else completely sees;
But then I remember, no one could;
My only friend has been the breeze;
This sad state seems to have a Name;
My life a namesake of greater fame;

Then I see, and know One better;
The One I read in my Soul’s Book;
His fragrance comes through every letter,
And draws me in with loving hook;
And then it seems, I’m almost home;
A truth that seems to warm these bones;

So I remember Who I am for,
Thus my heart has lost its chore.

    This is just lovely. Very hopeful, and comforting. You are sure of where you need to see solace, and I am grateful, I needed to hear/read just what you wrote. Even though it was a month ago, lol.
    Thank you,
    Jin

    As all ways beautifully done. I can only give you the greatist praise I know. When I stumble, being huuman I do. Your verses, make me go to my Bible, to find up lifting and for this I thank you.

      The Best Complement...

      ...I think one could give a Christian who writes is that their writing provokes another to go to God's Word. For that I gratefully thank you. Such encouragement only fuels my desire to make Him known through my words.

      I'll still be here for that, as the Lord wills.

      Thanks and God bless!

    This was beautiful Bob, I loved the last stanza especially;
    Then I see, and know One better;
    The One I read in my Soul’s Book;
    His fragrance comes through every letter,
    And draws me in with loving hook;
    And then it seems, I’m almost home;
    A truth that seems to warm these bones;

    Great write and from the heart. You def get my 3 thumbs up...GETS

    Lovely Write

    We can all seem so trivial and small in this vast and crazy world. But with Jesus in our hearts we are somebody. We are His child, mighty and strong. Your faith shines like a beacon in your poetry. Thank you for sharing. A great way to start my day. Bless you. Sandy

    great write. very deep emotionally. these lines speak to me:
    then I remember, no one could;
    My only friend has been the breeze;
    This sad state seems to have a Name;
    My life a namesake of greater fame;
    So I remember Who I am for,
    Thus my heart has lost its chore.
